EXPLORE ANACORTES

Guemes Channel Trail

The Guemes Channel Trail project entails developing the old rail bed into a parkway trail. Once complete the Guemes Channel Trail will link the San Juan Ferry to downtown Anacortes and the Tommy Thompson Trail.

The scenic views and gentle grade of this extension of our waterfront trail system will provide safe transportation for walkers and cyclists of all ages and abilities.

The passion that was exhibited to return the Trestle after the 2009 fire proved that Anacortes has a strong public desire for walking and bike trails.

The original Tommy Thompson Trail project and the rebuilding effort in 2009 showed that we as a community are able to accomplish amazing things when we share a dream.

The Guemes Channel Trail extends that vision with even more spectacular views and meaningful connections to the Washington State Ferry, Skyline and Washington Park. Imagine the possibilities for Anacortes now and for future generations.
