Picture the Brick

Grab your camera and head for historic Anacortes. Search Old Town for your favorite design, color, texture … or combination of visual elements … to frame the photograph that will distinguish you as winner of the next Anacortes Magazine photo contest.

Like any good building, you start with a solid foundation. The “foundation” for Anacortes is Old Town.  The old houses, the historical central business district, the waterfront, the library, museum, the Depot,  the city government, and the ever-popular United States Post Office are all located on this foundation.

To honor this foundation, Anacortes Magazine is sponsoring a photo contest – PICTURE THE BRICK.  We are looking for stunning photographs that show each brick (figuratively) in Old Town that has been laid down to build this wonderful community and its solid foundation.

Winner will receive a cash prize of $200.00, will be featured in the Anacortes Magazine, and their image will be printed on canvas or fine art paper. But the true winners of this contest will be the viewers. We will get to see, through the eye of the lens, how beautiful and stunning our little town is and how it was built – brick by brick.

The ‘Fine’ print:

1. Photos must be of “Old Town” Anacortes. Old houses, Causland Park, the Museum, The Depot, Cap Sante, the Library,Central Business District, the waterfront, etc.
2. Deadline is October 1st.
3. One photograph per person.
