Michele D’Amour grew up in West Seattle and was a child prodigy on piano at the age of six. She was also singing from an early age, performing in her church choir. Michele enjoyed writing stories, poems, and songs from an early age and became a published poet in her late teens. Later, Michele earned her chops singing with several different local bands and writing her own music.
Michele formed her own band, Michele D’Amour and the Love Dealers, in 2012, with players hand-picked from the Seattle blues and jazz scene. The band members are all friends who enjoy having dinner together before rehearsal, and their sense of camaraderie and fun can be heard in the music. As one reviewer put it, “Fronting this band of seasoned blues rascals is Michele D’Amour. With her smooth delivery she sets up for nice laid back journey through the heart of a blues soul. She can wind a tale of serious heartache or cut up over (a song like) Dress Code….throw the current fad called Pop Music aside and listen to something real.”
Michele D’Amour and the Love Dealers have released two CDs: Sin Comin’ On, in February 2014, with three original songs penned by Michele; and Ante Up, comprised of ten originals written by Michele, in March 2015. The band enjoys performing for and interacting with audiences of all ages and is has begun recording their third CD of all originals, with a planned release in early 2017.
