Anacortes Word Waves 2012

Best Humor (tie):

If I Were Queen of Dewey Beach

If I were queen of Dewey Beach,
All things would be within my reach:
The sand, the rocks, the constant tide,
The sky above, the trees beside.

The waves may crash upon the shore,
But I’d not fear their pounding roar,
For a Queen rules all in her domain,
And dignity she must maintain.

There’d be no rain or dreary days,
The clouds would change their angry ways,
And decorate the sky of blue,
With fluffy puffs of ivory hue.

With the seabirds I’d hold court each day,
And share my views on work and play,
Touch moon and stars within my reach,
If I were Queen of Dewey Beach.
